Suzan Fant     Mixed Media Collage artist has recently come full circle. After residing in Seattle WA for many years she has returned to making studio and home once more in MI.  Her 2-D and Sculptural Collage art has been shown and given awards in numerous local and National Juried Group and Solo Exhibitions.  Among these are: Re/VIEW: A CCS Alumni Exhibition 2017,  The 2017 33rd Annual National Collage Society Show , NWCS WA Convention Center Show, Winter 2016,  The NWCS/BAM Show -Adornment, March –June 2015 juried by Michael Monroe, The Phinney Gallery- Layered Forms 3-Person Show, May-June 2015, The 36th Annual Paper In Particular National Exhibition, Feb.-April, 2015 juried by Alida Fish, and the CVG Annual, Jan. 24th- Feb. 8, 2015.  Work was also selected for The Kirkland Art Center Annual 2014 juried by Michael Monroe/BAM, The Columbia City Gallery Annual 2013 juried by Juan Alonzo, Kirkland Art Center Annual 2013 juried by Linda Hodges,  Arts West Group Show: Putting Things in Their Proper Place Fall 2013, The National Collage Society 29th Annual, NCS Signature Members Show @ Mesa Arts Ctr. Dec. 2012-March 2013, and The Phinney Northwest FA Competition- Oct. 2012.

 

Suzan’s artwork has been featured in NWCS, SAA– Salem OR, Poncho, Just Art, Tacoma Art Museum, Sequim Museum & Arts Center, Cultural Landscape Foundation, the Coos Art Museum Juried Collage Show and other Show(s) and Auction(s) including, GRID @ Museo Gallery May 2015 and OFF the GRID @ Columbia City Gallery 2014.

 

She is a Signature Member of the National Collage Society and now after many good and eventful years is now a former member of several organizations.  These include Board Member (Programs) of the Northwest Collage Society, Seattle Print Arts, The Seattle Book Arts Guild, and The Saratoga Print and Paper Foundation.  She recently joined the International Society of Collage and Assemblage.  

 

Her arts education began early and included classes at the Grand Rapids Art Museum, continued at Michigan State University, E. Lansing MI and then at The College for Creative Studies (formerly the Detroit School of Arts and Crafts) as a Fine Arts/Painting Major. She has a certificate in Printmaking from the University of Washington.   Education and interests are ongoing with Workshops and classes (taught and taken) in Drawing, Encaustic, Book Arts, Printmaking and Collage @ Pratt, The Frye Art Museum, Sev Shoon Arts Center, The Book Arts Guild, and with Ellen Ziegler and Deborah Faye Lawrence.
